Pea & Ham Soup

Total Time: 12 hrs Preparation Time: 6 hrs Cook Time: 6 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1 ham bone, meaty
  • 500 g yellow split peas
  • 500 g split peas
  • 2 onions, finely diced
  • 1 large carrot, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 liter chicken stock
  • salt
  • pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cover peas with plenty of water and let soak over night.
  • 2 drain well and rinse.
  • 3 place all ingredients into a large soup pot, and add enough water to cover.
  • 4 cook on low for 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • 5 remove the bone and bay leaf, and blend soup with a stick blender until smooth.
