German Potato Soup

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 10 -12 medium sized potatoes
  • 2 medium onions
  • water
  • 1 -2 teaspoon summer savory
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 -3 cups buttermilk
  • 3 -4 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 peel, wash and cube potatoes.
  • 2 add chopped onions and savoury.
  • 3 add just enough water to almost cover the potatoes.
  • 4 salt to taste.
  • 5 boil until potatoes are tender.
  • 6 remove from heat.
  • 7 let cool a few minutes.
  • 8 add cream and buttermilk.
  • 9 return to medium low heat.
  • 10 slightly thicken soup with flour and water mixture.
