Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 lb dried split peas
  • 10 cups water
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced or 1 lb honey-roasted ham, diced
  • 5 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups carrots, diced brunoise
  • 1 cup celery, diced brunoise
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 onion, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 in a large slow cooker, combine the peas, water, sausage, bouillon, carrot, celery, potatoes, garlic powder, oregano, bay leaves, and onion.
  • 2 cover, and cook on low for 8 hours. remove bay leaves before ladling into bowls.
