Simply Dirty Rice

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 3 (10 1/2 ounce) cans beef consomme
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
  • 1/2 lb sage sausage
  • 1/2 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter (stick butter)
  • 4 tablespoons dried parsley

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 brown sausage and onion in a large skillet.
  • 3 mix beef consume, mushroom soup, rice, and cooked sausage and onion in a dutch oven (cast iron is always best).
  • 4 slice the stick butter into thin slices and heavily layer on top of mixture.
  • 5 top the dish with all of the parsley.
  • 6 cover the dutch oven and bake for 1 hour. fluff with a fork to check, but
  • 7 **do not "stir" the rice until ready to serve**.
