Simply Dirty Rice

Ingredients
- Servings: 5
- 3 (10 1/2 ounce) cans beef consomme
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
- 1/2 lb sage sausage
- 1/2 medium sweet onion, chopped
- 4 tablespoons salted butter (stick butter)
- 4 tablespoons dried parsley
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- 2 brown sausage and onion in a large skillet.
- 3 mix beef consume, mushroom soup, rice, and cooked sausage and onion in a dutch oven (cast iron is always best).
- 4 slice the stick butter into thin slices and heavily layer on top of mixture.
- 5 top the dish with all of the parsley.
- 6 cover the dutch oven and bake for 1 hour. fluff with a fork to check, but
- 7 **do not "stir" the rice until ready to serve**.
