Onion Casserole

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 3 large onions, sliced
  • 1/2 lb mushroom, fresh (or 2 small cans)
  • 1/2 lb swiss cheese, shredded
  • 18 1/2 inches slice french bread, buttered on both sides
  • 10 1/2 ounces cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Recipe

  • 1 best if refrigerated overnight or at least several hours.
  • 2 saute onion and mushrooms in margarine of oil.
  • 3 in a 9x13 inch buttered pan begin layering.
  • 4 first layer: one half of the cheese.
  • 5 second layer: one half of the onions and mushroom.
  • 6 third layer: 9 slices of bread.
  • 7 repeat layers.
  • 8 mix soup, milk and soy sauce, pouring over top.
  • 9 bake uncovered at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes.
